A good vocalist who understands how to work the mic will give you less problems obviously. Every vocalist is different, and so every vocal is gonna be differently handled. As you yourself pointed out, you did it and it worked. You have to be careful, but you'll get used to it. It can be tedious, sure, but well worth it. Determine where they are, and use automation. There you go. thank you kenny, your effort for REAPER users is invaluable This is as powerful as paid plugin such Waves Vocal Rider, only it doesn't cost a fortune. ok waves were not much help, they just told me all the DAW's that support side chain with vocal rider, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Nuendo, Cubase, Sonar, Audition, Ableton Live, FL Studio 12, REAPER and Studio One.
